SERVICE ACADEMY NOMINATIONS

Londonderry High School students Peter Sohm (left) and Stephen William Bintz (right) received certificates of recognition from John at a February 2006 ceremony in honor of the Senator’s Service Academy nominees.

New Hampshire students wishing to secure a nomination to a Service Academy should send a letter to Senator Sununu in his Manchester office outlining why they want to pursue a career in the United States Military. In addition, students should supply Senator Sununu’s office with the items listed below by October 27, 2006.

1. Letter of Interest
2. Autobiography
3. Informational Data Form (PDF) or Informational Data Form (HTM)
4. Letter of Reference (Minimum 3)
5. SAT Scores (Code: 0225)
6. Photo (Please write name on back)
7. Official Academic Transcripts

Senator Sununu can only nominate students to the United States Military Academy, the United States Naval Academy, the United States Merchant Marine Academy, and the United States Air Force Academy, who are from New Hampshire. Students whose legal residence is not New Hampshire should contact their representative or senator.

The Service Nomination Board is made up of retired military personnel, including service academy alumni and educators who conduct interviews. The interviews are completed by Thanksgiving, and students are notified by December 15, 2006. The board will take the highest SAT score and the Academy you choose must be made aware of your intention to attend.

Students who have questions about the nomination process or who would like to learn more should contact Kathy Schneiderat, the Senator’s Director of Constituent Services, at (603) 647-7500, ext. 14, or through U.S. Mail at 1589 Elm Street, Suite 3, Manchester, NH 03101.

All requested items should be sent to:
