in Palm Beach County

Topic: Wexler will meet with local first responders to evaluate the preparedness level of first responders in Palm Beach County and whether enough is being done to protect South Floridians in the event of a terror attack. Wexler is concerned that since President Bush took office, his Administration has repeatedly cut critical funding desperately needed to ensure that America’s first responders are able to do their jobs safely and effectively. Since 2003, President Bush and the Republican Congress have cut funding for our nation’s first responders by 32 percent from $5.97 billion in 2003 to $4.08 billion in 2007.
Congressman Wexler is a senior member of the House International Relations Committee and is a member of the House Judiciary Committee.
