Wexler Receives Perfect Score from League of Conservation Voters
(Washington, DC) Today, Congressman Robert Wexler received a perfect environmental voting score from the League of Conservation Voters (LCV). The National Environmental Scorecard is based on a scale of 0 to 100 and was scored on the number of pro-environmental votes that were cast during the 109th Congress. The scorecard includes key votes such as, offshore drilling, drilling royalties, public health and environmental funding. Wexler was one of only three members of the Florida Congressional delegation to receive a perfect score. The League of Conservation Voters is a national environmental organization committed to informing the public of the environmental voting record of public officials. “I am honored to have received a perfect score from the League of Conservation Voters again in the 109th Congress. It is imperative that Congress promote policies that will protect our precious natural resources. The unfortunate fact is Republicans in Congress have continued down a dangerous path of destroying our ecosystem and have failed miserably to protect the health and safety of all Americans. I will continue to fight to protect our environment, because if we don’t put into place sound environmental policies today, our children will suffer the consequences tomorrow,” Wexler said.
Congressman Wexler is a senior member of the House International Relations Committee and is a member of the House Judiciary Committee.
