A New Direction for America
While traveling in my congressional district this summer, people often asked me, “What do Democrats stand for?” Congressional Democrats recently outlined a legislative agenda, which reflects core values and priorities that will benefit all Americans.
The Democratic “New Direction” legislative plan starts with certain basic principles: The goal of government must be to strive for the common good, our leaders must be honest and fair, and our spending and tax policies must be fiscally responsible. ENERGY
Free America from dependence on foreign oil and create a cleaner environment with initiatives for energy-efficient technologies and domestic alternatives such as biofuels. AFFORDABLE HEALTH CARE - LIFE-SAVING SCIENCE
Fix the Medicare prescription drug program, putting seniors first by negotiating lower drug prices and ending wasteful giveaways to drug companies and HMOs.
