When Faced with a Choice, House Republicans are the Party of Reducing Taxes, Fighting Terrorism, and Securing the Border

Democrats would Raise Taxes, Coddle Terrorists, and Provide Amnesty to Illegal Immigrants

November 6, 2006

(Washington, D.C.) House Speaker J. Dennis Hastert made the following comments regarding the choice between Republican and Democrat policies this November:

“Under the House Republican watch, gas prices are low; the stock market is at all-time highs; and America has not been attacked since September 11th. From economic security to national security to border security, House Republicans have tackled tough issues.

“Americans now have a very important choice to make. When it comes to cutting taxes, fighting terrorism, and strengthening border security, Republicans have acted in the best interest of the country. If the Democrats gain the House majority, Nancy Pelosi has made it clear they will raise taxes, coddle terrorists, and provide amnesty to illegal immigrants.

“When faced with a choice, I believe the American people will stand behind the responsible policies set forth by House Republicans rather than follow an irresponsible agenda that would destroy our country.”
