Local efforts to protect Cherry Valley have gained momentum. The creation of the Cherry Valley National Wildlife Refuge has widespread support within the local community. Area landowners, business and community leaders, media outlets, and elected officials have consistently voiced their support for this effort. Moreover, a number of local landowners have already put their land into easements and other conservation arrangements.
