California's 14th Congressional District is located between San Francisco, Santa Cruz and San Jose and includes portions of San Mateo, Santa Clara and Santa Cruz counties.
The 14th District is home to Silicon Valley, world center of the information technology and biotechnology industries. It was here in 1939 in a Palo Alto garage that William Hewlett and David Packard started their firm and today, sixty-one years later, the electronics and technology industries continue to flourish. Technology industry leaders as Hewlett-Packard, Oracle, Cisco, Lockheed Martin, Sun Microsystems, Google, VeriSign, E-Trade and a host of other firms are headquartered here.
We have a spectacular coastline, ancient redwoods, pristine wetlands and protected foothills ... making this congressional district one of the most diverse, dynamic, and distinguished districts in the country.
