Intern Program

Thank you for your interest in participating in my summer intern program, which is designed to give students who have completed their sophomore year in college an opportunity to work in either my Washington or Little Rock office.

The program helps interns to learn about the federal legislative process, develop writing skills, and increase communication skills. During the five-week session, interns work closely with my permanent staff to perform various constituent services, participate in the legislative process and personally visit the capital’s numerous monuments and museums. Due to budget constraints the internship is offered on a volunteer basis only.

Internships are available for one of two summer sessions. The dates for 2006 are (May 30- June 30) Session One and (July 5 - August 4) Session Two. Please complete the application and send it with a copy of your resume and three letters of recommendation to my Little Rock office, 912 West Fourth Street, Little Rock, AR 72201 or fax it to (501) 375-7064. Please send it to the attention of Amber Elbert, Intern Coordinator. A completed application consists of: 1) one-sided application page, 2) resume and 3) three letters of recommendation.

Applications Intern Application for the summer 2006 program must be postmarked to my Little Rock office no later than February 25, 2006. Selections for summer 2006 will be announced in mid March so that housing can be secured by those selected for the program. Information on suggested housing is provided with an acceptance letter.

Again, thank you for your interest. I look forward to hearing from you. Please call Amber Elbert at (501) 375-2993 with any other questions.

Sincerely,

Blanche L. Lincoln
