* UPDATE: Monroe, Columbia, Luzerne, Lackawanna and Carbon County residents are eligible for Individual Assistance (assistance to individuals and households) through FEMA.
Columbia, Luzerne, Carbon, Lackawanna and Monroe counties are eligible for Public Assistance (assistance to state and local governments and certain nonprofit organizations for emergency work and the repair or replacement of disaster-damaged facilities.)
Additionally, all Pennsylvania counties are eligible to apply to the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (assistance to state and local governments for actions taken to prevent or reduce long-term risk to life and property from natural hazards.)

The flooding that occurred in late June in Northeastern Pennsylvania has caused a devastating amount of damage in parts of Columbia, Luzerne, Monroe, Lackawanna and Carbon counties. Congressman Kanjorski is working with state and local officials to make sure these counties get the maximum amount of federal assistance available.
