NATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR UNIFORMED SERVICES AWARDS HONORARY MEMBERSHIP TO CONGRESSMAN McHUGH

WATERTOWN, N.Y. – The National Association for Uniformed Services’ (NAUS) Rainbow Chapter has named Rep. John M. McHugh (R-NY) an honorary member of its organization. Chapter member and Fulton County resident Frank Clemente presented the honor to McHugh at a recent ceremony in the Congressman’s Watertown District Office.

“The National Association for Uniformed Services is proud to welcome Congressman McHugh as only the fourth member of Congress to join our organization, and I am particularly proud to welcome him to our Rainbow Chapter. His dedication to our servicemembers is commendable, and he shares our commitment to ensuring a strong national defense,” said Frank Clemente of NAUS’ Rainbow Chapter.

“I am truly honored to become a member of the National Association for Uniformed Services,” McHugh said. “The brave men and women of our armed services committed to serve and protect our nation. Likewise, I am committed to ensuring that our dedication to them does not waver. I continue to work in Congress to see that our active, guard and reserve troops, as well as to our millions of veterans, receive the benefits and support that they so rightly deserve.”

NAUS is a national veterans organization that serves as the voice in government for all uniformed services retirees, veterans, current members and their families/survivors. Serving 240,000 members, NAUS is open to all veterans of any of the Armed Services, as well as those currently serving. The organization’s Rainbow Chapter includes 1,400 members throughout the Albany area, the Mohawk Valley, and the North Country. Its name underscores their connection to the “Rainbow” division, the 42nd Infantry Division of the National Guard, which is headquartered in Troy, NY.

Congressman McHugh is a senior member of the House Armed Services Committee and a leader in developing U.S. policies on national defense. He serves as Chairman of the Armed Services Subcommittee on Military Personnel, and in this role is responsible for personnel policies and programs, military health care, reserve component integration, military education, and POW/MIA issues, as well as morale, welfare and recreation and quality of life programs.
