Metro: Metro Center, Federal Triangle or McPherson Square

Self-guided tours of the White House are available Tuesday-Saturday, between the hours of 7:30 AM and 12:30 PM. To request a White House tour, please contact my office. Please keep in mind that our office only facilitates requests and the decisions for acceptance are made by the White House.

The following are rules and regulations set forth by the White House that all Congressional offices must follow:

  • All request must be made through a Congressional office ("drop-in" and "stand-by" tickets are no longer available at the Visitor's Center)
  • All groups must have a minimum of ten people in size (there is no maximum number)
  • Request can be made six months to a month in advance (so please plan accordingly)
  • Decisions will be made by the Visitor's Office (on a first-come, first-serve basis) four weeks prior to the requested tour date

To submit a request on your group's behalf, please contact my office at (202) 224-5972. Please understand that due to limited availability, I cannot guarantee that the White House will honor every request.

After your tour has been approved, security information is needed for each individual. Required security information includes the following: name, date of birth, social security number, country of birth, and US citizenship. All guests fifteen and older will be required to present a valid photo identification card. Individuals whose security information does not match their identification card will not be permitted to enter the White House.

A group with less than ten people can be placed on a waiting list by contacting my office. This list was created as an attempt to combine smaller groups to make a group of ten. For more information or to be placed on the waiting list, please contact my office.

Please understand that the White House occasionally cancels tours for events being held at the residency. In the event that your tour is canceled, my tour coordinator will do everything possible to reschedule your tour, but sometimes the dates available will not coincide with your schedule and nothing can be done.
