Visiting Capitol Hill
I encourage you to visit Capitol Hill during your trip to Washington, DC and invite you to stop by
my office while you are here. My office is located in the Russell Senate Office Building, Room 290.
The closest entrance is located on First Street and Constitution Avenue, Northeast.
Passes to the Senate Galleries
I encourage you to experience our legislative body in action by visiting
the Senate and House galleries. Passes are available for the Senate gallery
when the Senate is in session. To obtain Senate gallery passes, please stop by my office.
House gallery passes are available with any House member, although I have a limited
supply available in my office. If your group requires more than ten passes,
please contact my office in advance.
Capitol Tour
Public tours of the United States Capitol are available Monday
thru Saturday, 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Timed tour tickets are distributed each day,
first-come first-serve, at 9 AM. During the peak tourism season, please be in
line no later than 8:30 AM. The public tour line assembles next to the Garfield
traffic circle on the southwest corner of the Capitol complex near the corner
of Independence Avenue and First Street, Southwest.
Staff-led tours of the Capitol are available for South Carolinians through my office,
Monday through Friday. For security reasons, staff-led tours are for groups of fifteen or less.
Please make all staff-led tour requests at least one to two weeks in advance by contacting
my office at (202)224-5972.
For groups larger than fifteen people, tours can be scheduled with the Capitol Guide Service
by contacting my office. Guided group tours are offered Monday through Friday. Please make
all group requests six to eight weeks in advance. Due to limited availability, please understand
that I cannot guarantee that all Capitol tour requests can be fulfilled.
