FLAG ORDERS

Would you like to order a flag that has been flown over the U.S. Capitol Building? The red, blue, and white American flag is the most visible symbol of the United States of America and it is recognized here and abroad as a sign of freedom and the rule of law. Americans have shared this symbol in good times and bad times through laughter and tears. A flag that has been flown over the Capitol can be requested in honor of any person or occasion on any day of the year (except Christmas day) and will be accompanied by a certificate of authenticity. Only flag requests from Kansas residents will be accepted. Please contact the Senators from your state to request a flag. To obtain the phone number for the Senators in your state, please call my office at (202) 224-6521 or click here.

As a result of the Anthrax exposure and subsequent closure of the Hart building, all U.S. postal mail to my Washington D.C. office is currently being delayed approximately 3 to 5 weeks, and packages through UPS and FEDEX can often be delayed for as long as 2 months. In addition, because of the great surge of patriotism since September 11 and the overwhelming demand for American flags, it may take several weeks longer for flag requests to be processed and shipped. My staff is working to fill all flag requests as quickly as possible; however, we would ask Kansans to be prepared to wait several months for their flag requests to be delivered to them. We appreciate your continued patience and understanding during this difficult time.

Payment:
Please make a personal check or money order payable to the "KEEPER OF THE STATIONERY " for the amount listed above next to the flag of your choice. Payment must be received before a flag may be purchased. If you request more than one flag to be flown in different dates, please include separate checks per each flag.
