Senators say funds will help protect Garden State, nation
WASHINGTON – U.S. Senators Robert Menendez and Frank R. Lautenberg today announced more than $270 million in funds for projects throughout the Garden State, including millions for weapons modernization, software improvements and vaccine development. The funds, included in the Department of Defense appropriations conference report, will finance projects in all geographical regions of New Jersey. The Senate is expected to consider the conference report later this week.
“These funds are essential to ensure the safety of all New Jerseyans and every American,” said Menendez. “The Garden State is a vital player in the defense of our country, and these critical resources will make New Jersey and America better equipped and better prepared to face the national security challenges of the future.”
"New Jersey's advances in science and technology have an impact across America," Senator Frank R. Lautenberg said. "In New Jersey, they create jobs and spur commerce. Across the country, they make people safer and healthier. With this money, we'll do more to secure our nation and our state."
