Committees I proudly serve on the House Committee on Energy and Commerce where I am the Ranking Democratic Member of the Environment and Hazardous Materials Subcommittee. I also sit on the Energy and Air Quality Subcommittee. The Energy & Commerce Committee has probably the widest range of responsibility in the House, overseeing health care, energy, environmental protection, telecommunications, trade, consumer protection and other important issues. As a committee member, I have worked on all of these matters and have become a nationally recognized leader on environmental justice, racial and ethnic health disparities; domestic violence; and universal health care. |
