The
Congressional Internship Program in Congressman Nunes' office is an
excellent opportunity to learn about the federal government and public
policy issues while spending a summer or semester dedicated to public
service. Internships are available in both Congressman Nunes' Visalia
office and Washington office.
In the Washington office, interns work closely with
staff on a variety of legislative projects. Responsibilities will
include conducting legislative research, responding to constituent
requests, attending Congressional Committee hearings, conducting tours
of the U.S. Capitol and performing general office duties.
Interns in the District office will have the
opportunity to conduct research for constituent casework requests,
assist with Congressional events, and perform general office duties.
Congressman Nunes asks that all interns are responsible
and possess a mature, professional manner. Interns should take
initiative and be well-organized and efficient.

The Page Program through the U.S. House of
Representatives is a wonderful opportunity for young people to learn
about the legislative process and serve their country.
Pages are sponsored by a Member of Congress, but they
are not employed in any particular Member's office. Instead, they work
as a team on the House floor assisting all Members of Congress.
To be eligible to serve as a page, all applicants must
be at least 16 years of age at the time their appointment begins and
have a cumulative grade point average of "B" (3.0 or 85/100) or better
in all major courses to date.
Pages are accepted for two summer sessions and two
school-year semester sessions. The summer sessions each last
approximately one month. Pages for the summer sessions may serve
during the summer before or the summer after their junior year of high
school. School-year program applicants may only serve during their
junior year of high school. Pages who serve during the school year
attend the House of Representatives Page School, where they continue
their eleventh grade studies as well as learn about House operations.
The applications for the summer sessions are usually
due in March. The first summer session is held in June and the second
summer session is held in July. The school-year program applications
are usually due in May. Contact my
district office
for specific information on deadlines.
Serving as a Page is an exciting, enriching learning
experience that a student will always treasure. Several Members of
Congress began their careers by serving as Pages.
