Cornyn Applauds Signing Of Byron Nelson Gold Medal Legislation
Bill Honoring Legendary Golfer and Humanitarian Signed Into Law by President Bush Today

WASHINGTON—U.S. Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas), the bill’s primary Senate co-sponsor, made the following statement regarding today’s signing by President Bush of H.R. 4902, The Byron Nelson Congressional Gold Medal Act:
“This action by President Bush represents the final step in the worthy effort to honor the life’s work of Byron Nelson with the Congressional Gold Medal. While all of us wish that Byron Nelson could be with us today, his legacy will live on for years to come in the countless lives that were touched because of his compassionate spirit, commitment to service and tremendous generosity. He exemplified the very best of America and it will be our high honor to present his family with the Congressional Gold Medal.”
