Congressional Art Competition

Celebrating Twenty-Five Years of Creativity


Congressman Kline encourages all high school students in the 2nd District to participate in the Congressional Art Competition. The purpose of this unique competition is to recognize our nation's gifted young artists and allows high school students to showcase their artistic talent.

Since the first competition in 1982, congressional members have conducted nearly 5,000 local contests involving more than 650,000 high school students. The winning entries from each congressional district are displayed in the U.S. Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. The winning student from each congressional district will receive an invitation to attend a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the opening of the exhibition of their work.  The Second and Third Place winners from the Second Congressional District will have their works displayed in Congressman Kline's Washington D. C. and Burnsville, MN offices.
