Student Financial Aid
As a student, I worked full-time to pay for college and law school. As the parent of college graduates, I know how tuition costs have escalated. I have always strongly supported assistance to students and their families who truly are in need and I am working to protect their interests during the 107th Congress.
That is why I have cosponsored H.R. 549, the Collegiate Learning and Student Savings Act (CLASS Act) which will make all state prepaid college tuition plans tax free after 2005. I firmly believe this measure is sound educational policy that will benefit middle-income parents and students. Now, more than ever, Americans need a flexible aid program which would allow students to utilize funds for student assistance in public or private institutions--in any state--regardless of residency. Below, please find additional resources which I sincerely hope proves to be useful and informative.
