End the Culture of Corruption

Our government is being undermined by a culture of corruption in Washington.  Republicans took control of Congress in 1994 promising to change the way business is done in our government.  They have certainly changed it – for the worse.

Our country faces real challenges, and we need men and women of character and ability to serve in order to meet these challenges effectively.  We need to do something about the obscene amounts of special interest money that has made its way into our political process, and we need a Congress that is focused on the real priorities of the American people.

The current culture is turning Americans away from public service and hurting our democracy.  The American people want change and a new direction in Washington, and Democrats are committed to providing it.  We are focused on the obvious challenges facing families in this country: skyrocketing health care costs, an enduring and costly war, out-of-control gas prices and rising college tuition.

It’s time to clean up Washington and move the country forward on the real issues facing American families.
