Dreier Praises Pro-Active Approach to
Providing Employee Stock Option Information

November 14, 2002

WASHINGTON - Congressman David Dreier (R-San Dimas), Chairman of the House Rules Committee, today applauded an announcement by TechNet and AeA that 33 companies have voluntarily agreed to provide increased information regarding their employee stock options. Dreier called the move "an important step toward the transparency necessary to ensure that investors possess information critical to their investment decisions." He also pointed to stock options as a key recruiting tool for companies looking to attract the best and brightest rank and file workforce possible.

"I applaud the tech community, particularly TechNet and AeA, for moving toward better disclosure methods when it comes to reporting stock options," Dreier said. "As we work to re-establish the economic growth we enjoyed in the recent decade, we must apply the lessons learned. The more information these companies can provide to their shareholders and the public, the better off the company, the investor and the overall economy will be."
