Dreier Statement on Passing of the Honorable Edward Roybal

WASHINGTON, DC - Congressman David Dreier (R-San Dimas, CA), Chairman of the House Rules Committee, issued the following statement today in reaction to the passing of the Honorable Edward Roybal, former Member of Congress and Los Angeles City Councilman:

"Ed Roybal was a true giant in Los Angeles public service. He was a trailblazer for the Hispanic community, and a genuinely dedicated public servant. I had the pleasure and honor of serving with him in the Congress for over a decade. He was unfailingly gracious, determined, and effective all at once. His daughter Lucille Roybal-Allard is furthering his legacy with her service in the House today. The entire Roybal family is in my thoughts and prayers at this difficult time."
