Dreier Statement on One Year Anniversary of September 11, 2001
September 11, 2002
WASHINGTON, D.C. - Congressman David Dreier (R-San Dimas), Chairman of the House Rules Committee, made the following statement today regarding the one year anniversary of September 11, 2001:
"Today we commemorate the one year anniversary of one of the most tragic days in American history. In New York, Shanksville, Pennsylvania and Washington, D.C. we will mark the terrible events of that beautiful September day. Across the country, Americans will honor the memory of those who perished and celebrate the heroism they displayed in the face of unimaginable circumstances.
"One year later, we have not forgotten what we lost and what remains to be done. We must redouble our commitment to winning the war that was started here on American soil. We must maintain that sense of national unity and strength we found within ourselves. And we must continue to salute those who have put their lives on the line to protect our country and our freedoms."
