Dreier Statement on Death of Maureen Reagan

August 8, 2001

WASHINGTON - Congressman David Dreier (R-San Dimas), Chairman of the House Rules Committee, issued the following statement today on the death of Maureen Reagan:

“Maureen Reagan was one of the most hard working and energetic individuals I have ever known. She was a passionate and eloquent spokesperson like her father, and she was sincerely dedicated to the Republican party and our country.

“She was a tireless campaigner for many Republicans, but especially for the causes in which she believed most. Her leadership in the effort to find cures for Alzheimer’s and cancer will be sorely missed. It’s my hope that we will honor her memory by continuing the search for those cures until we succeed.

“My thoughts and prayers are with the entire Reagan family as they deal with this tremendous loss.”
