House Subcommittee Announces Hearing
on “Bonner Plan”

WASHINGTON, DC - The House Judiciary Committee Immigration Subcommittee announced plans today for a hearing on legislation sponsored by Congressman David Dreier (R-CA), the Illegal Immigration Enforcement and Social Security Protection Act of 2005, H.R. 98. The legislation, also known as the Bonner Plan, would establish standards for a counterfeit-proof Social Security card and increase employer sanctions for knowingly hiring illegal immigrants. Witnesses will be announced early next week. Details on the hearing are as follows:
