Dreier Praises Portman OMB Nomination

April 18, 2006

WASHINGTON, DC - Congressman David Dreier (R-San Dimas,CA), Chairman of the House Rules Committee, issued the following statement today in reaction to the announcement that U.S. Trade Representative Rob Portman has been nominated to be the Director of the Office of Management and Budget:

"Rob Portman is an extraordinarily talented, hard working, and capable individual. His experiences in the administration and on Capitol Hill will serve him extremely well at OMB. We face real challenges when it comes to reducing federal spending, and Rob Portman is up to the task. I look forward to working with him in his new position."
