Congressman Paul E. Gillmor (R-Tiffin) released the following statement after the announcement of plant closings in Archbold and Perrysburg Township’s ConAgra Foods Plants:
“I was deeply disappointed by the news that ConAgra Foods has chosen to close their plants in Archbold and Perrysburg Township today. Anytime a plant closes which has a history in the community like ConAgra has, it is tough on everyone involved. I have been in contact with local officials and my office will continue to monitor this situation to ensure that the employees of ConAgra receive the benefits they have been promised.”
“I anticipate continued open communication between ConAgra, the local community and the employees in Archbold and Perrysburg Township during this time. My office in Defiance, Ohio is also available to provide information from the U.S. Department of Labor on concerns such as pension rights and healthcare and will help direct the ConAgra employees to the resources they need.”
