One of the most rewarding parts of my job as a United States Senator is the opportunity to help Nevadans and guide them through federal agencies and issues. Through my offices in Las Vegas, Reno, Carson City, and Washington, D.C., we are available to assist you. I encourage you to utilize the information on these pages, but please never hesitate to directly contact my offices if we can be of service to you. - Senator John Ensign

Fellow Nevadans:
One of my most rewarding responsibilities as your United States Senator is assisting my constituents who have questions, comments, or problems related to the federal government. Resolving the difficult situations that we sometimes face when dealing with our government can be overwhelming.

If you need help reaching a federal agency, click on Federal Links for useful 800 and hotline numbers and links to federal agency websites. If you have already contacted the federal agency and need help working with that agency, please fill out the Case Information and Privacy Act Consent Form*. If you have questions or would like to express an opinion concerning our government, you may contact one of my state offices via phone, fax, mail, or e-mail to relay your concerns. If you live in a rural area, you may call toll free: 877-894-7711.

Please note that all federal agencies require that I receive written permission before an inquiry can be made. Therefore, it is necessary that I receive written permission from the person of legal age that is requesting assistance. This can be accomplished by sending a signed Case Information and Privacy Act Consent Form to one of my state offices. To assist minors, I must have the permission of the parent or guardian in writing. I look forward to assisting you!

The deadlines for applications for each session are listed below.

Candidates interested in applying should send a cover letter, resume, two letters of recommendation, and a brief one or two page writing sample to my Intern Coordinator, Katharine Dillingham, either by fax: 202-228-1699, or e-mail kd@ensign.senate.gov.

Special accomplishments and events deserve special recognition. I consider it a privilege to acknowledge special occasions and special people: from groundbreakings to graduations, from grand openings to retirements, from birthdays and anniversaries to a variety of outstanding achievements. If you would like to request a letter or certificate(s), please submit a written request by mail or fax to one of my state offices. Your request needs to be received at least two weeks prior to your event or deadline.

My state staff is also able to request a White House greeting from President Bush for birthdays (80+ years) and wedding anniversaries (50+ years). In order to receive these greetings by the event date, you need to contact one of my state offices at least eight weeks prior to that date.

I look forward to helping you celebrate your special, memorable occasions.
