WASHINGTON, DC— Congressman Chris Cannon (R-UT) today released the following statement on the failed attempt to override President Bush’s veto of H.R. 810.

“We should never sacrifice life in the pursuit of science.  Both the Senate and the House have passed legislation that provides for embryonic research that does not involve the creation or destruction of human life.  President Bush’s position on this issue has been clear, and today I voted to support his veto,” Cannon said.
