Cannon Statement on the Passage of the Marriage Protection Act

WASHINGTON, DCCongressman Chris Cannon (R-UT) today released the following statement on the House passage of H.J.Res 88, the Marriage Protection Act.

“Today’s vote was about protecting the sanctity of marriage.  This amendment protects marriage from the whims of activist judges.  Though I have great reservations about amending the U.S. Constitution, an amendment is our last resort to reign in an un-checked judiciary,” Cannon said.
