Academy Nominations

Members of Congress have the privilege of recommending a select group of individuals for admission to the United States service academies: Army, Navy, Air Force and Merchant Marine. I invite students interested in applying for a congressional nomination to one of the military service academies to contact my Charleston office in the spring of their junior year. The limited number of available appointments is highly competitive.  Applicants should be residents of the 2 nd Congressional District of West Virginia and between the ages of 17 and 22.

Please contact Mary-Margaret Chandler in my Charleston office at (304) 925-5964  for information and an application to apply for a nomination to the U.S. service academies. The deadline for receiving all required information is October 31 of the year preceding entrance to a service academy.

In addition to a nomination from a U.S. Congressman or U.S. Senator, candidates must apply to the service academy of their choice. Information on the academies' admission requirements and standards can be obtained by contacting the admissions offices of the academies.
