The Committee on Homeland Security will continue the full committee markup on the “Chemical Facility Anti-terrorism Act of 2006” today, Friday, July 28, 2006. This bill would give the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) the authority to regulate the security of America’s chemical facilities.  It would require the Secretary of DHS to assess and rank chemical facilities based on risk, and ensure that the highest-risk facilities meet stringent security requirements.  The markup will be held in 210 Cannon and the time is TBA.
