Providing for smart growth and smart economic development begins with building a smart infrastructure and providing tools to support our communities. South and Central Texas has experienced tremendous growth over the past decade. This level of commitment proves that investment in programs and projects like these work and the community as a whole benefits tremendously.
Bastrop County will use these funds to widen SH 71 from SH304 to SH 20 to better meet the transportation mobility needs of the region; Santa Rosa will use the funds for the construction of a new Boys and Girls Club; and, the monies for I-69 are part of an on-going Federal government commitment to completion of environmental studies that will lead to the construction of the highway in Texas.
Making sure the transportation needs of our residents are met is of great importance. We have made progress with I-69, and while there still remains a lot of hard work ahead of us, I am confident that the fruits of our labor will be well worth the effort. We will continue this path of smart and stable growth throughout Texas.
