MAIL DELIVERY TO SENATOR SARBANES’ OFFICE

Following the discovery of the anthrax and ricin in the mail processing operations on Capitol Hill, the Capitol Police have instituted extensive screening processes to insure that all future deliveries are free of such dangerous toxins. As a result of these procedures, we have been advised that it may take as long as a month or more for constituent letters to reach Senate offices by U.S. mail.

Therefore, constituents with time sensitive issues, casework requests, or invitations should fax a letter to my Washington, D.C. office at (202)224-1651, or my Baltimore office at (410)962-4156. You may also e-mail me from this website.

As a United States Senator, the views of my constituents are invaluable to me as I study the issues facing our Nation. I, and my staff, review all constituent letters very carefully, and I certainly take the views of Marylanders into account as I cast votes in legislative matters before the Senate. I appreciate and value the thoughtful comments of my constituents, and will continue to read and respond to your letters despite these delays.

         With best regards,

        Senator Paul S. Sarbanes
