Bush Signs Secure Fence Act, Rep. Gohmert Responds
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Representative Louie Gohmert (TX-01) today issued the following statement after President George W. Bush signed the Secure Fence Act of 2006 into law.
“Today marks yet another critical step in the right direction toward a secure America. As a representative of the people of east Texas, I have heard first-hand and have acted on the demands of my constituents to secure the borders,” said Gohmert.
“In this day and age of terrorists, securing all of our avenues of entry has been an ongoing battle I have waged since I got to Congress, and I was pleased that we got this through the House and Senate. I now applaud President Bush for signing it into law,” he added.
Rep. Gohmert represents the First District of Texas in the U.S. House of Representatives. Rep. Gohmert serves on three key House committees: Judiciary, Resources, and Small Business. He can be reached at www.gohmert.house.gov
