Rogers Joins in Ribbon-Cutting for New Aerospace Manufacturing Facility in Somerset
Friday, November 03, 2006 - WASHINGTON, DC -- U.S. Representative Harold “Hal” Rogers joined Sikorsky/Schweizer Aircraft officials in a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the new Summit Aviation Aerospace Component Manufacturing Facility located at the Somerset-Pulaski County Airport.  Rogers was joined on stage with Sikorsky President Jeff Pino, Schweizer Aircraft President Paul Schweizer, Somerset Mayor J.P. Wiles, Pulaski County Judge Executive Darrell BeShears, Somerset-Pulaski County Development Foundation Executive Director Carrol Estes and President Mickey Ray, and other elected officials. 
Rogers: Datatrac Opens Doors in Whitley County
Monday, October 16, 2006 - WASHINGTON, DC -- U.S. Representative Hal Rogers joined state and local officials today at a ribbon cutting ceremony for a Regional Digitization Facility operated by Datatrac Information Services, Inc., in Williamsburg.  As part of the competitively awarded five-year government contract, the new venture will employ more than 250 people.  Rogers was joined by U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Service Director Emilio Gonzalez, Governor Ernie Fletcher, Williamsburg Mayor Roddy Harrison, and Datatrac CEO Kathi Yeager.
Rogers: Federal Funds to Boost Operation UNITE Bound for Region
Thursday, September 28, 2006 - WASHINGTON, DC — U.S. Congressman Harold “Hal” Rogers confirmed today that funding is being released to Operation UNITE to continue a comprehensive attack on drugs in southern and eastern Kentucky.  The U.S. Department of Justice is awarding over $9.1 million to continue and expand efforts by Operation UNITE.  The funding will be used to continue UNITE’s three-pronged strategy of investigation, treatment, and education initiatives.
Rogers Announces Drug Free Communities Funding
Thursday, August 31, 2006 - WASHINGTON, DC — U.S. Congressman Hal Rogers (KY-05) announced today that the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP) has awarded nearly $800,000 in funding for Southern and Eastern Kentucky Drug Fee Communities programs.  This funding helps local communities develop their own substance abuse programs.
Kentucky One Step Closer to Landing New Homeland Security Research Lab
Wednesday, August 09, 2006 - WASHINGTON, DC – U.S. Representative Harold “Hal” Rogers announced today that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has selected Pulaski County, Kentucky as one of fourteen nationwide finalists for location and construction of a new National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility (NBAF).  The Pulaski County site, located approximately ten miles northeast of Somerset, received high marks from an initial DHS review committee and now proceeds to the next phase of this ongoing competition.
