12th District Georgia Congressman John Barrow, District 23 State Senator J.B. Powell, and District 157 State Representative Jon Burns hosted a town hall meeting in Millen to discuss the recent announcement by Jockey International to outsource 203 jobs to Jamaica, Honduras, Costa Rica, and El Salvador. 

 

Representatives from Swainsboro Technical College were also on hand to provide details about available job training and educational opportunities.  In addition, representatives from the Georgia Department of Labor and caseworkers from Congressman Barrow’s office were there to answer questions about state and federal support services available to individuals who have lost their jobs.

 

The Town Hall Meeting was held at the Jenkins County Ag. Extension Center in Millen.
