Internship Program
Senator
Carper is now accepting internship applications for his DC and Delaware
offices for the upcoming semester. This program presents an opportunity
for both a unique learning experience and an inside look at the
political process.
Our
Washington, DC, internship program is a great way to receive college
credit (if applicable) while gaining hands-on, real-world, work
experience. Interns are asked to work at least 10 hours per week
and school-year internships are unpaid. Summer internships are paid
and require a commitment of 40 hours per work week.
Our
DC interns interact with the Senator, his staff and constituents
on a daily basis. They receive an inside look at the legislative
process by attending hearings and performing research on a wide
variety of legislative issues. They also gain valuable experience
by monitoring media outlets for daily developments, sorting office
mail and assisting with U.S. Capitol tours for constituent groups.
They also receive full access to the Library of Congress and Congressional
Research Services.
All
intern applicants MUST submit a completed application, along with
a current resume, to Missy Wier, either by fax: 202-228-2190 or
