Second Global Warming Hearing ScheduledSubcommittee Invites Dr. Mann to Testify
WASHINGTON - U.S. Rep. Ed Whitfield, R-Ky., chairman of the House
Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations, has scheduled
a hearing for Thursday, July 27 at 2 p.m. in room 2322 of the Rayburn
House Office Building entitled, "Questions Surrounding the 'Hockey
Stick' Temperature Studies: Implications for Climate Change Assessments."
The subcommittee has extended a second invitation to testify to Dr. Michael
Mann of Penn State University. Dr. Mann is a leading climatologist whose work is
widely acclaimed, broadly respected and aggressively defended. His research has
become a touchstone for public policy on climate change over the past decade.
A full witness list has not yet been finalized.
