The Access to Capital Electronic Network was initiated by the Small Business Administration's Office of Advocacy to help small businesses get access to equity capital. It also has a network of nonprofit partners who mentor and assist business development.

Better Business Bureau's Business Library
The BBB library is a great resource for issues such as check fraud, effective complaint handling, and financial advice.

IRS
The Internal Revenue Service's website has a special section for small businesses and the self-employed. It includes a checklist for new businesses and information on meeting small business tax requirements.

Small Business Administration
The Small Business Administration provides financial, technical and management assistance to start, run, and expand small businesses. Last year, the Small Business Administration offered assistance to more than one million small business owners.

STAT-USA
STAT-USA is an agency in the U.S. Department of Commerce's Economics and Statistics Administration. It has a website that provides economic, business, and international trade information produced by the U.S. Government to assist you in making informed business decisions.

U.S. Business Advisor
The Business Advisor site exists to provide businesses with one-stop access to federal government information, services, and transactions.

United States Patent and Trademark Office
The U.S. Patent & Trademark Office has a small business outreach webpage. The U.S. Patent & Trademark Office will begin to give preference to businesses in Historically Underutilized Business Zones (HUB-zone).

The U.S. Senate Committee on Small Businesses
The committee is a good way to keep up on what the Senate is doing to promote and protect small businesses.
