Bonjours mes amis! (Welcome friends!)

Thank you for visiting my website. I have the privilege of representing Louisiana’s Third Congressional District, a beautiful rural region with a rich Cajun history and culture.

I hope you will stop by often to get the latest news about the work I am doing in Congress for the people of Louisiana’s Third Congressional District.  You can also find information about legislation I have supported, see where I stand on various issues, and read the Katrina Task Force plan for helping the Gulf Coast recover and fixing our country's disaster response system.

Look over the various constituent services my staff and I can help you with. Most important, find important hurricane recovery information and tips on how you can prepare for future storms.

Just over a year ago, the people and communities of my district were devastated by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita.  The storms were the worst two natural disasters in our nation’s history, killing over 1500 people and forcing a million more from their homes.  Since then, my staff and I have worked tirelessly to help the people of south Louisiana recover and rebuild.

In Washington, I have fought for disaster relief money to help us with our immediate needs, and offshore revenue sharing so we can finally get the long-term funding we need to protect ourselves from the next big hurricane.  Today, Louisiana is closer than we have ever been to getting our fair share of OCS royalties so we can finally build a comprehensive category five hurricane protection system and restore our coastal wetlands and barrier islands.

My staff and I are here to help you.  Whether it's getting a FEMA trailer or applying for an SBA loan, we will try to help you cut through the red tape and get the assistance you need to recover.  Please call or stop by one of my four district offices in south Louisiana and we’ll try to help.  I would also love to hear about the issues that most concern you.  If you have any questions or ideas, please write me an email.

My staff and I have a saying in our office: If on any given day, we can help at least one person with a problem, then it’s been a good day.

Louisiana was devastated by last year’s tragic hurricanes, but our faith and determination will get us through.  We will recover, and we will rebuild bigger and better than ever.

Que le bon Dieu vous béni,
