My name is Richard Pombo and I chair the House Committee on Resources. Welcome to our committee's website. I hope you'll
find the information contained in these pages to be useful and educational. After taking the chair of the committee at the beginning
of the 108th Congress, I embarked on a mission to reach the local people right at home. I've attempted to do that in a number of ways, including through this website.

Here you'll find important everyday information such as what our committee is working on, hearing dates and testimony and

information on legislation and bills before the committee. You'll also find the latest news on committee action and the pressing environment, natural resource issues facing Congress.
Finally, it is my hope that this website will become a resource for the people of this country active
in fighting for common-sense and science based policies that will positively influence our environment.
