REP. WELDON & DEPUTY SECRETARY OF TRANSPORTATION TO HOLD MEETING IN DELCO ON AIRSPACE REDESIGN


UPPER DARBY, Pa., Oct 12 -

U.S. Rep. Curt Weldon (R-Pa.), vice chairman of the House Homeland Security Committee, will be joined by Deputy Secretary of Transportation Maria Cino on Monday, October 16, 2006 at 9:00 a.m. for a meeting at the Delaware County Government Center in Media, Pa., to discuss the proposed FAA airspace redesign surrounding Philadelphia International Airport.    

Congressman Weldon and Deputy Secretary Cino will join Delaware County Council Chairman Andrew Reilly and several local officials to discuss the potential impacts the proposed airspace redesign would have on Delaware County communities.  Congressman Weldon has strongly opposed the redesign plan, citing drastically elevated noise levels and environmental impacts that will affect both community residents and local wildlife.
