Senator Byrd

Leadership.      Character.      Commitment.

U.S. Senator Robert C. Byrd

Contacting Senator Byrd
Because of security concerns raised after letters containing anthrax were mailed to Senators' offices in the fall of 2001, tighter mail security procedures have been implemented to improve the screening of mail that comes to Congress to help guard against future incidents involving biological or chemical agents.  These security procedures cause short delays in mail service to and from my office.

Because of those delays, I urge you to consider additional options to contact my office for assistance:

  • Fax your letter to my Charleston office at 304-343-7144;
  • Call my Washington office at 202-224-3954.  If you leave your name and telephone number, your call will be returned as soon as possible;
  • Call my Charleston office at 304-342-5855;
  • Go to my e-mail page.

You also can continue to contact me through the U.S. Postal Service:
