Bingaman: Funding Will Benefit Fire Department In Mora County

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Jeff Bingaman today announced that Mora County has been approved for a $76,730 low-interest loan from the federal government. Additionally, the county was awarded a $33,270 federal grant.

Bingaman said funds will be used to purchase a Type III Wildland Urban Interface Pumper Truck. The truck will be equipped with a 500-800 gallon water tank, a 500 gallon per minute pumper system and a Class A foam system. The pumper truck will be used by the Ledoux Volunteer Fire Department.

“I am very pleased that the federal government is making funding available through grants and loans to help Mora County acquire this necessary vehicle,” Bingaman said.

The loan will be paid back over 15 years at an interest rate of 4.5 percent.
