BUNNING INTRODUCES LEGISLATION TO ESTABLISH VETERANS CEMETERY AT FORT KNOX
Legislation Would Honor Those Who Fought And Died For America |
|
Washington, DC - U.S. Senator Jim Bunning yesterday introduced legislation that would authorize the Secretary of the Army to convey to the Department of Veterans Affairs for the Commonwealth of Kentucky the rights and title to a 93 acre parcel of land at Fort Knox to be used to establish a state-run veterans cemetery.
“In an effort to preserve and honor the memories of those brave men and women who served our country,” said Bunning. “Our veterans risked their lives to preserve the very freedoms we cherish today and it is important that we honor them in this way.”
