BUNNING ANNOUNCES FEDERAL CONTRACT FOR ECHO CONSTRUCTION

Washington, DC - U.S. Senator Jim Bunning today announced that the United States Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) has awarded a $20,345,000 construction contract to Echo Construction Company of Louisville, Kentucky.
The contract is for improvements to the existing electrical system and to construct a new utility plant at the Miami, Florida, VA Medical Center. Both will be designed to remain functional during periods of flooding caused by thunderstorms and hurricanes. The project includes construction of a new centrally located utility plant and electrical vault, with associated site work and hazardous material/asbestos removal. The project will consolidate all of the facility’s major utilities to an elevation above the flood level.
