GENERAL INFORMATION

Principals from every high school in Indiana have been asked to select two junior students to attend the Symposium for Tomorrow's Leaders at the University of Indianapolis on December 9, 2006. Last year, over 500 students participated. Where transportation problems for the students exist, high school faculty members have been invited to attend the Symposium.

REGISTER NOW FOR PREFERRED MINI-SESSIONS

Students should review carefully the list and descriptions of mini-session topics on the left. They should select three topics which most interest them and include their preferences on the registration form. Mini-sessions will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis, so the sooner we have your registration form, the more likely students will receive their preferred mini-sessions.

WHAT NEXT?

A letter confirming the students’ registrations will be sent directly to them. It will include information to assist them in preparing for the event. A schedule for the day, a campus map and directions to the University will also be included.

DAY OF THE SYMPOSIUM

Registration on December 9th will begin at 9:00 a.m. (EST). The day's activities will conclude at 4:30 p.m.

A complimentary lunch will be provided to all Symposium participants. The only cost to students who attend the Symposium will be normal travel expenses.

Following the Senator's address, each participant will attend his/her three mini-sessions. Each mini-session will last approximately one hour and be conducted by experts on the subject. The format for most sessions will feature two of our experts presenting opposing viewpoints, followed by an informal discussion.

If you or your students have any questions about the Symposium, please visit the frequently asked questions page or contact Karen Seacat at (317) 226-5555 between 8:30 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., (317) 226-6143 after 5:00 p.m. or by email at: karen_seacat@lugar.senate.gov.
