Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services
Congresswoman Bono can assist constituents with questions regarding immigrant visa petitions, naturalization or any other applications filed with the Bureau of Citizenship and Immigration Services (BCIS) —formerly the Immigration and Naturalization Service or INS. To expedite the process, constituents who need assistance should fill out a privacy release form and mail or deliver it to a district office.

Becoming a U.S. citizen
Information on becoming a U.S. citizen is provided on the BCIS web site.

An informational pamphlet titled, a "Guide to Naturalization" is provided on the website to answer many questions about gaining citizenship. Readers must have Adobe Acrobat to access the booklet.

Applicants may download software from the BCIS web site that allows them to complete the naturalization form on their personal computer, then print a special bar-coded application that improves the accuracy and speed of the application process.

Those interested may also request the N-400 Naturalization application form by calling 1-800-870-3676.
