SENATOR HUTCHISON PRAISES NASA DECISION TO SERVICE HUBBLE SPACE TELESCOPE

WASHINGTON, DC -- Senator Kay Bailey Hutchison (R-TX), Chairman of the Senate Commerce Subcommittee on Science and Space, today congratulated NASA on its decision to conduct a mission to service the Hubble Space Telescope.

“I commend NASA Administrator Griffin for choosing to mount a mission to service and revitalize the Hubble Space Telescope. It is one of the most amazing and visible features of our nation’s space program and has revolutionized space science. Today’s decision is a testament to the great progress made by the Space Shuttle Return-to-Flight program which has demonstrated the shuttle can conduct the Hubble servicing flight safely.”
